Male Hair Loss is the Most Common Type of Hair Loss

The most common type of hair loss is that of male hair loss which may be the result of increased sensitivity to the male sex hormones that exist in certain areas of the scalp and may be passed from generation to generation. Once, baldness was perceived as being unfortunate as well as undesirable but attitudes to baldness have changed and a clean-shaven head in modern times is looked upon as fashionable as well as attractive.

In certain men, some portions of their scalp may be very sensitive to particular hormones that circulate in the blood. These hormones make the hair-growing follicles shrink which over time would make them incapable to replace lost hairs. Even though the follicles are still alive they are unable to perform the task of growing hair.

Receding Hairlines and U-Shapes

Men, aged between 25 and 30 years of age may see such conditions appear which may follow a typical pattern that begins with a hairline that starts to recede and over time. The hair on the top of the head begins thinning and the two balding areas meet to form a U-shape; even hair that remains tends to be thin and is slow to grow.

Male hair loss is usually passed on from parent to child and although there are medical treatments that may improve the condition, using them may result in having side effects. Male hair loss is quite widely prevalent and there are different reactions to how it is perceived. However, one should try and accept male hair loss as being a natural condition and not try to camouflage it with the use of wigs to hide the bald spots.

Male hair loss may be treated with medication, or with plastic surgery. Medications include Monoxidil lotion such as Rogaine regular and Rogaine extra strength and it can be applied twice a day to the scalp. To begin with, Monoxidil was invented primarily for treating high blood pressure and hair growth is only a side effect that has become useful for treating male hair loss. Plastic surgery can be a very effective means to treating male hair loss and there is constant improvement in the techniques used to restore hair growth.

Irrespective of which method you choose, weigh the costs and benefits f each treatment option and discuss it with your physician before you go ahead with it.

Hair Loss In Men - The Contributing Factors

Discuss - Always seek the advice of your physician before undergoing a hair loss treatment regime.

With hair loss in men, hair at the temples recedes and the crown
can also begin to thin.

Eventually a horse shoe pattern around the sides of the head appears.

The main signs of hair loss in men:

1. Receeding hairline

2. Moderate to extensive hair loss, particularly on the crown of
the head.

About ninety-five percent of hair loss in men is attributable to
Androgenic Alopecia also know as male pattern baldness.

Discuss - The myth People who do not suffer from hair loss have no shedding of hair at all.

Some believe this condition includes three factors:

1) age
2) heredity
3) the male hormone testosterone

As hair loss in men progresses, the hair becomes finer, does not
grow so long and the bald spot at the crown widens.

Finally, the thinning crown and the receding points may meet
forming a horseshoe pattern with hair around the sides of the
head.

Hair loss in men can begin as early as 20 although for the
majority of men, hair loss is more noticeable from the age of 35
to 40.

DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) is recognized as a main culprit. DHT is
a combination of testosterone and androgen receptors mixed with
sebum and dirt particles. Some hair follicles are particularly
sensitive to DHT and tend to shrink when exposed to it. Finally
the hair follicle may shut down altogether and the hair falls
out.

Another condition is called Alopecia Areata, in which hair comes
out by the roots in one or more spots. It is much less common
than Androgenic Alopecia.

Other causes of hair loss in men can include scalp infections,
nutritional deficiency, systemic illness, and severe stress.

Discuss - Female pattern baldness - believe it or not, most women affected by hair loss lose it for the same reasons as men. They suffer from androgenetic alopecia which is a reaction to male hormones in the body, specifically the conversion of testosterone into the hair-unfriendly DHT.

5 Steps To Conquering Male Hair Loss…

Discuss - Eating a balanced and healthy food, keeping the hair and the scalp clean and using a good anti-dandruff shampoo will all go a long way in stopping hair loss.

Would you like to know how to conquer your hair loss problem?

Well, here are the 5 critical steps that have been followed by every single guy who has ever conquered their hair loss problem…

LISTEN TO ME: If you want to conquer your hair loss, then what do you think you need to do?

That’s right, YOU MUST follow these same steps. There is no question about it…

So, without further ado, here goes…

Critical Step #1: YOU MUST understand why YOUR hair loss is occuring. Otherwise, to put it politely - You have no hope!

Critical Step #2: YOU MUST be equipped with the most powerful treatments and techniques on the planet. This is not any easy task - sifting through hundreds of scam treatments to find one or two “real deal” treatments is like finding a needle in a haystack…

Critical Step #3: YOU MUST develop a treatment regime. A treatment regime is a combination approach towards hair loss. See, if you just take 1 approach, you’ll be throwing all your eggs in one basket! You also need to choose treatments that you are personally comfortable with using. There are upsides and downsides to every treatment…

Critical Step #4: YOU MUST develop a plan of action, and decide which treatments to include in your regime. Then you need to get hold of these treatments at reasonable prices. And boy, there is a gigantic range in prices for the same ingredients!

Discuss - Avodart (dutasteride) - this is a new medication that is not yet approved for hair loss but which offers exciting possibilities for treating male patten baldness. It works in a similar way to Propecia which prevents one of two enzymes from converting testosterone into DHT thus blocking two thirds of DHT production.

Critical Step #5: YOU MUST commit to a plan and then find an effective way to track your results. It’s the only way that you’ll know whether your treatment regime is working…

The bottom line? Conquering your hair loss problem will take a little effort, but believe me, its worth it…
